LOCAL OUTREACH
Working with the City of Oakland, Golden Hour Restoration Institute has received funding from the Alameda Countywide Flood Protection Board for conducting local restoration work and education in the non-developed areas of the North Oakland Sports Field. We have helped arrange over 200 volunteer and education hours on this site. This June the 26th, 2008, we will be helping organize 200 Chevron volunteers!

SPRING RESTORATION 2008
We are in the process of organizing a tour de force of restoration projects in the East Bay which will include tree planting, weed removal, and natural history in some of the most amazing East Bay habitats. This course will be co-sponsered with Audubon California!

OAKS OF THE EAST BAY
In Spring of 2009, Golden Hour is planning a small pilot course on Oaks in cooperation with the Alameda County Natural Resource Conservation Service and California Oak Foundation. This 4 week course will run through the "Life, Death, and Rebirth of California Oaks". Please email lech@goldenhour.org if interested.

SUMMER ECOLOGY COURSE
A classroom based course on ecological course is organized for Bentley school. Students will learn about the East Bay, its plant and animals, and some of our greatest environmental challenges. We are planning our 1st 'official' year of this cooperative effort to begin in 2009!

NON PROFIT 501(C)3 APPLICATION
Our federal application has been accepted. We are now applying for grants in order to be able to offer classes at lower costs to students and aspiring restoration ecologists.
