ABOUT US
Based in the East Bay Area of California, Golden Hour Restoration Institute is a non-profit organization that connects individuals with their natural environment by actively engaging people in ecological restoration projects. Our projects vary in scope from planting trees, to restoring native grasses, to removing exotics, to ameliorating habitat for selective wildlife, to empowering people with knowledge and awareness.
Our projects not only serve the landscape and the land managers who oversee the site, but just as importantly, the community and its participants who learn valuable skills to become more effective restoration ecologists. We fill an important niche of building new partnerships with agencies and groups in order to help them fulfill project goals. Our worksites are intended to help complete important restoration work, educate important ideas, and build new relationships.
The Golden Hour Restoration Institute combines hard work with great fun. We believe that people who enjoy the outdoors will more likely protect it. Therefore, our trips attempt to balance professional field-based education with good, homegrown fun through recreational activities.
